Late Life Depression & Anxiety
Have you noticed that Dad seems to have lost his spark? Is Mum worrying about things more than she used to?

So many families assume that these are inevitable changes, as we age.

However, they could be warning signs of late-life depression and anxiety; conditions that often go undiagnosed in older people, and can severely compromise your Mum or Dad’s health and quality of life. But it doesn’t have to be this way…
In this workshop, you’ll learn to recognise everyday signs and symptoms of late-life depression and anxiety, understand the latest research in evidence-based treatment options, and know how to encourage Mum or Dad to see the doctor.

Grief & Bereavement
The loss of someone we love dearly is one of the hardest things we will ever experience in life. I know this to be true, both professionally and personally. While everyone’s journey through grief is unique, this workshop will share some common feelings and experiences, to help you make sense of what you’re going through and allow you to feel less alone. You’ll also learn a number of evidence-based strategies that can support you in processing your grief and taking steps towards creating your new normal.

Death & Dying
Does your family avoid thinking or talking about death and dying? If so, please know that your family is not alone, and is very normal. I’ve come to know, however, that avoiding conversations about death and dying, doesn’t allow us to avoid this inevitable reality of life. It simply leaves us feeling more vulnerable, unprepared, confused as to our options for end-of-life care, and alone in having to make some potentially big decisions.

In this workshop, I will give you practical, actionable scripts and strategies for having conversations with your Mom or Dad about their end-of-life wishes (these conversations don’t need to be scary or daunting). You’ll learn about the various options for end-of-life care, and how you can support your Mom or Dad to experience a dignified death that is as consistent with their personal wishes and values, as possible. One of the greatest gifts you can give to your Mom or Dad, and to your family.
